Global Maritime Forum

The Global Maritime Forum (GMF) is a 3-day workshop where leading U.S. and international experts collaborate to explore complex issues of technology and its effects on national maritime policies and to formulate actionable recommendations for solutions to present to senior government officials. The GMF is organized and executed by the National Maritime Intelligence-Integration Office (NMIO) and cochaired by the Director of NMIO and a local partner or sponsor.

The GMF directly supports NMIO’s strategic guidance as set forth by the Director of National Intelligence to engage the Global Maritime Community of Interest—the U.S. Intelligence Community and non-Intelligence Federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial governments; academia; maritime commercial, defense, and science and technology industries; nonprofit and research institutes; and foreign partners—for a common understanding of the implications of emerging technologies in the maritime domain.

Past GMF partners and cosponsors include the Italian Navy and Centro Alti Studi per la Difesa, NASA AMES, the Applied Physics Lab at the University of Washington, the University of Liverpool, and the Applied Research Laboratory at the University of Hawaii.
