Maritime Enhanced Engagement Initiative
The Maritime Enhanced Engagement Initiative (MEEI) is a partnership program with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and National Network of Fusion Centers that improves maritime information and intelligence sharing among the fusion centers and Federal Maritime Community partners to improve Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) for the Global Maritime Community of Interest—the U.S. Intelligence Community and non-Intelligence Federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial governments; academia; maritime commercial, defense, and science and technology industries; nonprofit and research institutes; and foreign partners. The MEEI is a key tool of the Regional Maritime Improvement Program.
The goal of MEEI is to provide a “maritime playbook” that outlines seven areas in a three-tier approach for enhancing maritime stakeholder engagement to develop and enhance partnerships among DHS field agencies, FBI field offices, other Federal Maritime Community partners, and the DHS-recognized National Network of Fusion Centers. |
