Maritime Enhanced Engagement Initiative (MEEI)
The Maritime Enhanced Engagement Initiative (EEI) is a partnership program with the National Network of Fusion Centers, the FBI, and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to improve maritime information and intelligence sharing within this cohort improving Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) for U.S. federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, international, private, and public partners.
The goal of Maritime EEI is to provide a “maritime playbook” outlining seven areas and three tiers enhancing maritime stakeholder engagement to develop and enhance partnerships among DHS field agencies, FBI field offices, Fusion Centers, and other maritime community information-sharing partners. Key partners include ODNI, DHS, DoD, DOJ, fusion centers, state and local law enforcement and port partners.
