WHERE WE ARE GOING

Building partnerships between industry, academia, and government to combat hard problems like terrorist exploitation of the Maritime Domain.

Improving information sharing between our international partners to remove barriers that impede timely sharing of critical maritime security data.

Facilitating the sharing of domestic maritime sensor data by U.S. federal, state and local law enforcement partners to improve Homeland coastal security capabilities.

Expanding the use of common standards to allies, to foster unity of effort among international partners in identifying, tracking and locating vessels, people and cargo.

Integrating Maritime Science and Technology partnerships between industry and government to better understand and counter emerging technological threats to the Global Maritime Domain.

Developing maritime focused tools and capabilities for early awareness of illicit actors exploiting the Maritime Domain.

The mission of the National Maritime Intelligence-Integration Office (NMIO) is to advance maritime intelligence integration, information sharing, and domain awareness to foster unity of effort to protect the United States and its global interests, its allies, and its partners against threats to, in, or emanating from the global maritime domain.
